10/1/2011 ~~ St. George Marathon

My sister, Heather, came up from California to run with me! This was a great race. So, organized, energized, and BIG! There were 7200 registered runners. This was also the first time I had a "time" goal. I was hoping to complete this marathon sub 4 hours. As you can see, I didn't quite accomplish that...so I will just have to run another marathon, someday! Heather keeps trying to convince me to run one at sea level and I would definately accomplish that goal. We shall see! But, I still did accomplish something...I took 15:38 off of my previous St. George Marathon time!!! I am proud of that!

5/21/2011 ~~ Ogden Marathon

I wasn't really sure that I would be running this race! I found out last Sunday that my father passed away and didn't know when the funeral would be. Needless to say, his funeral was Friday and I ran this one for him!!! Hopefully, he was running right next to me (now that he can!) I love you Dad!

The weather was perfect! I ran with my cousin. I love running much better when I am with someone I know. Thanks Dyanna!

Bridger ran the Kid'sK. He had fun and did a great job!

4/16/2011 ~~ Salt Lake City Half Marathon

This was the first time running down in Salt Lake City. I ran with one of my co-workers (his first race.) He did awesome. Under 2 hours for his first half. Amazing! I did reach my goal of under 2 as well. The weather was perfect for a race, although when we left my house it was pouring!

I beat my previous Half personal record by 4:38.

10/22/2010 - 10/23/2010 ~~ Ragnar Relay ~ Las Vegas

I ran the Las Vegas Ragnar Relay with some AWESOME people! In our vehicle we had Gary, Kathy, Craig, Kyle, Danny, and myself running each respective leg of the relay. I am not exactly sure who all was in the other vehicle because I just passed the wrist band to them and they were off running! It was definitely a different experience to run such a relay, try to sleep (when possible), and run again at all hours of the day and night. My first leg our team was the front runner. It was a great experience to be the first runner in to the first major exchange. I would do it again if such opportunity arises. For more details you can go to their website: www.ragnarrelay.com.

Ogden Marathon 2011

So, I was going to sign up for the Half Marathon after I ran the Layton Marathon. But, it was sold out 7 days after opening registration. So, with gentle persuasion from Ashlee, I decided to just sign up for the full marathon. Bridger also is registered for the KidsK. It will be fun!

10/9/2010 ~~ Layton Marathon

This was the first Layton Marathon. I ran with my sister, Heather, from California. It was fun to start running in the dark. We eventually saw the buffalo on the island. The causeway was LONG and FLAT! I really enjoyed running past my neighborhood. Thanks to those who cheered us on! It was a great boost to get us to the finish line.

5/31/2010 ~~ Memorial Day Classic Half Marathon

Today I ran the Half Marathon at the Jensen Nature Park. I kept thinking the entire time that it was so much more fun to have Ashlee running with me (like I did 2 weeks ago.) I do admit, it was tough...but, I was pleasantly surprised to still finish at the 2 hour mark.

5/15/2010 ~~ Ogden Half Marathon

Today was the Ogden Half Marathon. It was fun. I ran with my amazing wife, Ashlee. I am so proud of her and this awesome time...especially since neither of us trained more than one run every one to two weeks. We also ran with Heidi, a friend from our Clinton Ward. It was great to catch up with her and hear about her life these past months.

5/16/2009 ~~ Ogden Marathon

Today was the Ogden Marathon. I keep wondering why I do these things when I have to wake up at 3:45 a.m., catch a bus at 4:45 a.m., and wait around by bonfires for almost 2 hours before the race even starts. It was fun. My leg started cramping around mile 19, but, other than that it was a pretty good race. I didn't make my goal of less than 4 hours, but it was close!! The announcer at the finish line even called me a "Super Dad" because Bridger was running with me and I picked him up to finish the race. Good memories!!

4/25/2009 ~~ Winter Racing Circuit - 30K

Saturday was the 30K or (18.65 mile) race. It was pretty good. It only rained/snowed for a little bit. I ran with Gary (my old boss) from mile 9 to 14. Then I finished strong. My pace was much better than in the Half Marathon.

Time = 2:47:31.8
Pace = 8:59

4/4/2009 ~~ Winter Racing Circuit - Half Marathon

Today was the Half Marathon of the training series. It was the first half of the Ogden Marathon. It was so cold, snowy at times, and windy! Unfortunately, I was on the first bus and it dropped us off 45 minutes before the race started. But, I did run (no pun intended) into one of my friends, Brooke, from Jim's Gym and I ran the race with her. It was fun to talk with someone the whole time instead of just listen to music. I did run a little slower than I usually do, but that's o.k. I still finished!!

2/7/2009 ~~ Winter Racing Circuit - 5k

So, today was the 5k race. I obviously didn't make it because I was celebrating my 7 year anniversary with Ashlee. I did do a 4 mile run though. It was pretty tough, because I haven't been running in so long. No more excuses...here are the results.

6/25/2005 ~~ Muddy Moose 10k

Ashlee and I ran the Muddy Moose 10k. It was a trail run up at Snow Basin. We've never done trail races before. We were running up hills, through streams, through trees, and down the mountainside. It was fun. I haven't seen them even do another race like it. It was our first race at 6.2 miles.

Memorial Day Classic

The Memorial Day 5k (or previously known as the Telford Financial Memorial Day 5k and Half Marathon) was one of Ashlee and my very first races we ever ran. It was about a week after we found out our names had been drawn for the St. George Marathon in 2005. It was official, we needed to start training. I ran the Half Marathon in 2006 and Ashlee did the 5k again (while she was 6 months pregnant.) Both of those years it was held at the Barnes Park in Kaysville. Then Ashlee ran it again in 2007 and we both ran it in 2008. From 2007 on, they switched the race to the Jensen Nature Park in Syracuse. (Kaysville's road was still under construction.) The most recent race in 2008 it was pouring rain the whole time. That was the first time we've ever run in the rain!

9/13/2008 ~~ The Classic 5k

This is the first time I have run "The Classic." It was really fun, especially since my employer was one of the sponsors and it was held in the city in which I live. So, I ran into quite a few people I know. Ashlee also ran it, but she got stuck pushing Bridger in the stroller, since I had to be to work at 9 am. I'll definately run this again.
